Laurie Brown is a senior consultant for VMG Health (formerly BSM Consulting) based in Tucson, Ariz. In her role at VMG, Ms. Brown consults with a variety of individual, group, and corporate clients to identify specific needs and issues while providing enduring strategic solutions that achieve the objectives of all stakeholders.
A distinguished ophthalmic administrator and educator, Ms. Brown brings more than 40 years of health care experience to VGM. She has extensive experience in administration and management roles and a strong clinical/surgical background, which includes surgical assistance and oversight of FDA-monitored core studies of new ophthalmic technologies.
Prior to joining VMG, Ms. Brown concluded a prominent career with Drs. Fine, Hoffman & Sims, LLC, a world-renowned cataract and refractive surgery practice in Eugene, Ore. Throughout her ophthalmic career, she has served on the boards of Certified Ophthalmic Executives, ASOA, JCAHPO, Ophthalmic World Leaders (OWL), and currently serves on the Ophthalmic Professional magazine advisory board. She is a frequent educator at national ophthalmic meetings and has assisted in live cataract surgery demonstrations in five countries in conjunction with surgeon education meetings. She has extensive experience converting to electronic medical records.
